On March 24, a new edition of the Women Economic Forum Chile began, the only international forum focused on the women’s economy. Our Executive Director, Marcela Ruiz, attended the inauguration, where she spoke about “Technology for Sustainable Oceans.”

The winning project of the Avante 2020 Challenge is already yielding results and is expected to be implemented nationwide soon.

Acústica Marina is one of the external entities associated with the project “Integrated System for Environmental Sound Source Analysis: FuSA System”, led by the Acoustics and Informatics Institutes of the Faculty of Engineering Sciences at the Southern University of Chile.

Recently, researchers from these institutes secured funding for the FuSA System project through the Fondef Idea I+D 2020 Competition. This initiative results from collaboration with various companies and institutions with which previous projects, agreements, and joint research have been conducted.

The project aims to develop a system that integrates acoustic measurements of environmental sound sources with detection and classification analysis using deep neural networks.

The external entities associated with this project include the Ministry of the Environment and the companies VitGlobal, Gerard Acoustic Engineer, CAPTA, and Marine Acoustics.

“At Acústica Marina, we will provide information on underwater Sound Pressure Levels (SPL) and audio recordings from our underwater noise monitoring stations.
